Vintage cast iron Clydesdale horse-drawn beer wagon set. 8 painted Clydesdale horses, with two drivers and a dog, and a wagon loaded with 39 miniature carved beer barrels. The rigging has dedicated harness reins for each of the 4 horse pairings. There may have been 2 additional horses in the front as the reins and an additional hook hole seem to suggest.
This is a homage to the original eight horse teams that were historically used to deliver beer to taverns and saloons.
Approximate measurements given that I measured it from a stool: Length from horse head to back of wagon is 33 inches. Wagon in the back is roughly 3 3/4 inches wide. Horse head to tail to head is roughly 5 inches and tail to front legs roughly 4 3/4 inches.
There is a 38 1/2 by 5 3/4 inch piece of plywood that it can be placed on. It needs a good dusting. My father collected cast iron toys since I was a child and he passed away in 2010. Downsizing.
