Take part in an online research study to look at the usefulness of the Healthy Minds Program, which is a free digital program that teaches mindfulness, and its impact on helping people who recently experienced suicidal thoughts or behaviors. People who complete the full study will receive up to $60. This study has received approval from the UW-Madison Institutional Review Board and is under the direction of Brooke Ammerman, PhD.

✅ have past-month active suicidal ideation
✅ have no significant experience with meditation
✅ have not used the Healthy Minds Program app
✅ fluent in English
✅ have regular access to a smartphone and the Internet
✅ able to verify identity
✅ able to understand the study procedures
You will…
1. Complete a 1.5-hour video-recorded virtual interview with research staff.
2. Download and keep the Healthy Minds Program on your phone for 4 weeks, and use it for at least 5 minutes daily.
3. Complete short (5-minute) weekly surveys.
4. Complete a final 1-hour video-recorded virtual interview with research staff.
