Upper Blackstone Clean Water is a MA Grade 7 Wastewater Treatment Plant in Millbury, currently accepting resumes for a Senior Wastewater Operator. We are one of New England’s largest clean water treatment plants serving roughly 260,000 people in the greater Worcester area and managing biosolids for an additional 15 communities.
Applicants must be able to perform supervisory work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility in connection with wastewater treatment plant operations and related work as required. Work involves resolving most plant operational problems and determining procedures with some independence. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Plant Operations Manager.
Responsible for the operation of the plant systems and equipment, including identification of maintenance needs and initiation of maintenance and repair work orders based on monitoring of plant equipment and knowledge of operating conditions and performance parameters. Establishes plant conditions and system status for maintenance and repair of plant equipment. Initiates troubleshooting to diagnose operational difficulties in plant process equipment. Interfaces with maintenance organization to ensure proper maintenance and operability of the plant and its equipment.
Assigns and instructs subordinates in safe and proper operation and methods, supervising and assisting the preventive maintenance and incidental maintenance and upkeep of machines, equipment, and other wastewater treatment plant facilities. Institutes emergency procedures, safety precautions and is responsible for the basic care of plant equipment and implementing and sustaining good housekeeping procedures. Maintains records and prepares reports of process operations. Responsible for plant security.
