I have a Brand New Nady RSM-5 Ribbon Mic. If you've been wanting to own or experiment with ribbon microphone technology but didn't want to shell out $100's or even $1000's for a Royer or similar, here's your chance. This is a great little mic.
Ribbon mics are good for nearly any application, but excel on acoustic instruments. Many recording engineers also use them along side of a dynamic or condenser microphone on things like guitar amps/cabinets, to give them a wider/deeper frequency spectrum to mix together.
I have owned this one for over a decade but, literally have never used or even opened the box (the picture of the open box is for one that I've already sold). This was another backup, but I've never needed it, so here it is. It's been kept stored in my temperature controlled house vertically (as to avoid ribbon sag) this entire time.
If you aren't familiar with ribbon mics, they tend to be warmer and "flatter" in response than traditional studio condenser or dynamic mics. They also need more clean output to drive them, so if your preamp or mixer doesn't do that (most modern ones do), then you may need an extra boost, like a Cloud Lifter or such.
