The intended user is any musician wishing to control the playback of a piece of music while their hands are busy playing their instrument.
The MTC-6 is compatible with any Windows "media player" type application that supports USB Consumer Media Keys and programmable "Hotkeys". If your chosen "media player" type application responds to the "Multimedia" keys on many modern keyboards, it should be compatible.
The MTC-6 was specifically designed to take advantage of the capabilities of VLC Media Player.

* The Loop and Enter commands require that the "media player" application have "Windows focus" when that switch is pressed; this means that the menu bar of the application is not grayed-out.
** If the Jump Forward and Jump Backward hotkeys in your "media player" application are not assigned to the commands sent by the Forward and Back switches, they will function as Next and Previous Track. Please refer to the last section.
*** Most compatible "media player" applications will respond to the Play/Pause and Stop switches without user intervention.
Select a media track you wish to listen to and press the Enter switch. I included the Enter switch as it allows the user to start playback while their hands are on their instrument.
Pressing the Back and Forward switches trigger jumps in those direction.
Stop is hopefully self-explanatory.
Loop requires that Advanced Controls under the VLC View menu is selected. Each press of the Loop switch completes part of the loop cycle; start point, end point and play, reset.
The warranty on the MTC-6 is 1 year from date of purchase. Abuse or disassembly will void the warranty.
Each MTC-6 is made/recycled by me from surplus product produced by another manufacturer. It appears that there were some quality problems in production and while the units work properly, the cosmetics are not top shelf. Thus, each unit will probably have scrapes, scratches and other cosmetic imperfections. Please consider that you will be stepping on it frequently.
