I'm putting out feelers for a multi-instrumentalist, vocals strongly preferred.
I'm NOT looking for your basic guitar/plus "something", like bass/drums person, but more like multiple woodwind instruments plus a little keyboards or percussion, or violin/mandolin/sitar/lap steel, etc., maybe along the lines of David Lindley would work.
You'd need to be comfortable playing signature lines, some solos (including some improv), as well as "textural" or background "pad" type parts or rhythms. Past live gigging experience is important so that this could get off the ground reasonably quickly.
You'd also need you to have your own instruments and have whatever pickups or other gear/accessories to mic them up for live. Reliable, with transportation is a must. No bad habits that would affect your ability to show up, perform and be professional in general.
I am a seasoned professional musician who plays primarily guitar (rhythm and lead) and sings (lead and background). I have performed professionally my entire life, including in the central, MA area. I have my own gear and am reliable and professional.
I'm looking to do a duo to start (small ensemble maybe later), playing an eclectic variety of roots rock, ala 60's-70's classic rock, psychedelic rock, folk rock, jazz-rock, etc., as well as some typical covers and a few newer songs. Some original stuff would be nice too, but not the main focus.
I'd like to play out 2-4 times a month, depending on schedules as well as availability of gigs. I live in the SW metro Worcester area, and would like to keep the traveling to no more than about 30 minutes from my area to a gig if possible, so please keep that in mind.
This project is definitely for fun and the love of music, but I always have a strong desire to get out in front of people to share the music. I don't want to practice everything to death just to be in a bedroom and not much else. I expect to work these songs up and be tight, not just jam on them.
Please respond with DETAILS about yourself concerning the above specific attributes I'm looking for. Also, any recording or videos of you playing that you have will be helpful.
Thank you!
