Covers not restricted to any specific genre, and can include 40's to present day. Recent set list multi generational including country, beatles, blues, soul, classic rock, 90s. daughtry, marshall tucker, beatles, eagles, van morrison, matchbox 20, thin lizzy, wilson picket, joe cocker, collective soul, stone temple pilots, billy idol, incubus, chris isaak, sublime.
I do originals - mine and other people's - but I don't have to include the originals - can be all covers.
I can play acoustic guitar, electric rhythm (gtrs a bit rusty needs practice), maybe bass (very rusty), some sax (set pieces) for a show. In the recent past I've opted to focus on singing but I want to play guitar as well.
I don't create drama and I'm not insecure in myself, and I find that bands that do tolerate stuff like this usually break up in time. Anything else is fine as long as it doesn't create problems. I am collaborative and collective and my ego is left outside the door.
My sweet spot for vocals is probably blues, some soul, billy idol like growling rock, some crooning ballads, and scratchy vocals such as low register Nirvana. Mostly. I can adjust to a certain extent but vocal chords have physical limitations. I hope I am a competent vocalist and would expect others to tell me when I can't sing a specific song. I would like to work with one or more other musicians who are either competent or willing to learn. I have a busy life so learning 101 new songs will take a while. I don't do falsetto screaming vocals and I'm not interested in heavy rock music, meaning I don't do ACDC, Aerosmith, high register Led Zep, etc ... it's not because I don't like it but because I can't scream vocals; but otherwise I am versatile in multiple genres.
A band that already has two guitarists I would not be a good fit for.
Individual band members who are allergic to country music or who insist on only playing a single genre I would also not be a good fit for.
A heavy rock band I would not be a good fit for.
A band with one or more stringed instrument players who cannot or will not tune 1/2 step down for some songs I am not a good fit for - there are pedals for that.
Lead vocalist does not mean band leader.
A jam only cover band that practices for years and never performs I would not be a good fit for.
