Realistically, these Porter Cable tools are a beast compared to the Dewalt tools. They are much more heavy duty. I may have used this set once or twice, then they have been sitting in the corner of my garage ever since. This kit came with 2 batteries and the charger you see in the photo.
I also started grabbing extra drills, batteries and chargers for these every chance I could, just to have them around if only for parts. That’s what you’re looking at in the blue bucket. I believe that there are 4 extra drills, 3 extra chargers and seven or eight batteries.
First reasonable offer owns it all
As far as the batteries are concerned, I don’t know what works and what doesn’t. What I do know is that batteries for these are available online, both new and rebuilt. I have printed information from one such rebuilder. You send him a dead battery core and he sends you a freshly rebuilt unit. There are also DIY kits for the same. Also, on YouTube there are several videos of how you can jump start dead batteries just like you would with a car. There are also snap on conversion units that allow you to use different brand batteries in these as well, several of which are currently being sold on eBay, so you have lots of options.
