We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and independent 1099 Maintenance Contractor to handle ongoing, part-time property maintenance, minor repairs, and unit turnovers for a residential rental portfolio in Worcester, MA.
This is a highly flexible, on-call position perfect for an established local handyman, a solo contractor, or a semi-retired tradesperson looking for steady, recurring supplemental income.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Tenant Repair Requests: Diagnose and fix minor plumbing leaks, clear clogged drains, swap out faulty light fixtures/outlets, reset GFCIs, and troubleshoot basic household issues.
Unit Turnovers: Prepare vacant units for new tenants (drywall patching, paint touch-ups, changing locks, minor carpentry).
Preventative Care: Inspect common areas, clean gutters, check smoke/CO detectors, and help winterize properties.
REQUIRED CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional property maintenance, facilities upkeep, or residential remodeling experience.
Tools: Must possess your own reliable truck/van and a full set of professional hand and power tools.
Insurance: Must carry (or be willing to obtain) standard Commercial General Liability Insurance ($1M minimum).
Legal/Tax: Must be willing to provide a signed W-9 form and pass a standard background check before entering occupied tenant homes.
Physical: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform standard physical labor.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Pay: $30.00 to 45.00 / hour (Paid quickly via 1099 invoice terms).
Schedule: Extremely flexible. We send you the work orders, and you coordinate the best time to complete them within a reasonable window.
Location: Properties are clustered locally within Worcester. No long commutes out of town.
