VNA of Southern Worcester County & Hospice our Volunteers are an intregal part of our hospice team. Fulfilling roles that include companions for patients to clerical support in our offices. We provide free Volunteer Training and monthly support and educational groups. Our Hospice Volunteers will tell you that their work is rewarding, stimulating and emotionally meaningful. We work with your schedule and availability. We welcome students who need community service and interns needing placement. Offices located in Auburn & Webster, MA, servicing Central Massachusetts.
We have the following Volunteer Opportunities available:
Direct & Respite Support: Visits provided to patients in their residence. This time can be spent with patient just visiting, reading, taking walks, writing letters, playing games, bringing in music, and many other requests. . Volunteers can assist with shopping or light household maintenance, or allow family caregivers the opportunity to take care of necessary errands, exercise, or simply have some time alone. Volunteers can also help care for a family pet.
Bereavement Support: Volunteers work closely with our bereavement staff assisting with contacting bereaved families, monthly mailings,support group facilitator, serving refreshments, or planning events.
Administrative Support: Volunteer with clerical skills offer their skills the office with administrative duties.
Complimentary Support: Massage Therapist, Reiki Practitioner, Aromatherapy, Hairdresser or barber, Music Therapy, Art therapy and Pet Therapy. (All must be licensed or certified and provide proof upon application)
