You may be eligible for a clinical trial at Mass General studying fatty liver in women and men with HIV.
We are studying whether an approved medication known to reduce belly fat also treats fatty liver. Participants will be assigned by chance to receive tesamorelin (the study medication) or placebo (an inactive medication) for one year. Then, all participants will receive tesamorelin for 6 months.
All visits are at MGH. Compensation up to $850 is provided. Transportation expenses will be reimbursed.
You do not need to know if you have fatty liver to be screened for the study.
